Protesters take to the the street in response to rumors of a white supremacist march on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 in Durham, N.C. The sheriff had issued a statement that he was investigating the rumors, but no gathering of white supremacists was apparent by midafternoon. However, officers blocked streets and businesses closed.

Kolos, the firm behind the project, has chosen the site, in the Norwegian town of Ballangen, due to the abundance of local hydropower and the chilled air which will help naturally keep the data center's temperatures low. So far, the US-Norwegian company has raised several million dollars to help fund the project from private investors in the country.

Kolos, a US-Norwegian company is planning to build a rather large data center located inside the Arctic Circle . Located in Ballangen, Norway, the area would provide chilled air and locally "abundant hydropower" will help keep energy costs down.
